TONY DAVENPORT, CLERK/FINANCE DIRECTOR, WEATHERFORD
Tony Davenport recently completed 30 years with the City of Weatherford. He became the first Oklahoma municipal official to earn the "Master Municipal Clerk" designation, the highest offered by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
OML MEMBERS RECOGNIZED DURING KOB BANQUET
During the Keep Oklahoma Beautiful annual awards banquet at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum on Nov. 1, OML members Ardmore, Okmulgee, Moore, Pauls Valley and McAlester were recognized for exceptional environmental improvement efforts completed during the 12-month period ending June 30.

This is the time of year OML receives numerous inquiries regarding giving employees a Christmas bonus, providing a turkey/ham or giving city/town councilmembers a gift. Although the intent is good, it can cause a great deal of confusion for city employees and members of the governing body.
WHY FEW TRUSTED GOVERNMENTS ACTUALLY TALK MUCH ABOUT INTEGRITY FROM DAY TO DAY
In those too-rare governments with values statements, integrity is usually trumpeted at the top of the list and employee integrity shows up more and more frequently on performance reviews, etc.
WHO NEEDS GOVERNMENT? CIVILIZED SOCIETY!
I want government to leave me alone. I'm sick of it. Whatever happened to personal freedom? Whatever happened to personal responsibility? I want that government should just go away.
